CAMDEN UNITY CUP SEPTEMBER 11TH 2010
September 11th, 2010
We took 2 teams to the under 14’s Camden unity cup football tournament in Cumberland Market, Camden.
The cup has been running for 11 years and there was a lower than usual turnout due to funding issues.
Never the less, 5 teams took part in all and our B team came top of the group winning all 4 of their games which meant they made it through to the finals!
Unfortunately they lost 2-1 in the finals with Daniel Fortune scoring a great goal to equalise. One consolation was that Pati Smith won player of the tournament.
The team spirit and sportsmanship was excellent throughout and both teams were a real credit to the club.
Aside from the football there was also a fair on which our members enjoyed thoroughly inlcuding a gladiators inflatable and a spinning bull.
The members also got to meet the Mayor of Camden!
The members comments will be posted next week at the club.
